Nonlinear Compartment Models with Time-Dependent Parameters

A nonlinear compartment model generates a semi-process on simplex and may have an arbitrarily complex dynamical behaviour in the interior of simplex. Nonetheless, applications models often unique asymptotically stable equilibrium attracting all points. Further, convergence to this is wave-like related slow dynamics near second hyperbolic boundary. We discuss generic two-parameter bifurcation at corner simplex, which leads such dynamics, explain as artifact non-smooth nearby system C0-topology, where boundary attracts open set As idealized systems two disjoint basins attraction, they are able show rate-induced tipping non-autonomous case time-dependent parameters, induce phenomena original like, e.g., avoiding wave by quickly varying parameters. Thus, article reports quite unexpected path, how can occur models.
